Alarming scenes for Penrith Panthers’: NRL legend Andrew Johns’ emphatic response amid new claims surrounding Nathan Cleary and Mary Fowler saga…

Andrew Johns’ forceful reaction to fresh allegations involving Mary Fowler and Nathan Cleary.

NRL Round 13 saw plenty of drama, but the biggest talking point was the swirling rumors about Penrith Panthers star Nathan Cleary potentially switching to rugby union to be closer to his partner, Matildas footballer Mary Fowler.

**The good: NRL greats don’t think Nathan Cleary will move**

Former Wallabies Tim Horan and Morgan Turinui fueled speculation last week, suggesting Cleary was "quite keen" on a move to European rugby. However, NRL legends have dismissed the idea outright.

Andrew Johns didn’t hold back:

*“What’s today, June 1 – it’s not April 1. I’m saying a big fat no. That won’t happen.”*

Queensland coach Billy Slater was also skeptical:

*“It would be a pull-off for the Wallabies if they could get Nathan Cleary, but I don’t think that would happen. I’d be surprised if Nathan challenged himself with that.”*

Cameron Smith and Brad Fittler also rejected the idea, but in rugby league, never say never.

**The bad: Benji Marshall and Wests Tigers spiraling again**

The Tigers’ struggles continue, with just two wins in their last six games. Since the Lachlan Galvin contract saga erupted, they’ve conceded 146 points in four matches, including a brutal 64-0 loss to Melbourne.

Despite a late rally against the Cowboys, they were down 32-6 at one stage. Jarome Luai’s frustration is growing, and fans are questioning if the club’s rebuild is already collapsing.

**The ugly: Ezra Mam’s on-field act during Broncos loss**

Ezra Mam’s heated exchange with teammates during Brisbane’s loss added to the Broncos’ woes. The young star’s frustration boiled over, highlighting the pressure on coach Kevin Walters.

**What’s next?**

With Cleary’s future (for now) settled in the NRL, the focus shifts to whether the Tigers can recover—or if their season is already lost.
