*"We don’t play pickleball against each other. We prefer to be on the same side of the court," Graf tells PEOPLE.*
Married tennis legends **Andre Agassi** and **Steffi Graf** have traded tennis for pickleball, a sport they now play at least three times a week. Their passion for pickleball began during the pandemic and has only grown since.
**“We like that pickleball is a community-driven sport,”** Agassi told PEOPLE during a “Grand Slam Weekend” at The Breakers Palm Beach, celebrating the resort’s new $12 million racquet sports complex. **“People improve quickly, and the player demographic keeps getting younger.”**
For Graf, 55, and Agassi, 54, pickleball—a paddle sport with a perforated plastic ball—offers a fresh challenge with less injury risk than tennis.
**“Andre still plays tennis, but I don’t much anymore,”** said Graf, a 22-time Grand Slam champion. **“We loved learning a new sport during the pandemic and meeting friends through pickleball.”**
Their one marital rule? **“We don’t play against each other. We prefer to be on the same side of the court.”**
In February, the couple won the **Pickleball Slam**, a premier ESPN event. Now, they’re focused on growing the sport globally, with upcoming trips to **Vietnam and China** to promote it.
**“We practice a lot together—it’s fun,”** said Agassi.
At home in **Las Vegas**, they host casual barbecues for family and friends, including their kids **Jaden, 23, and Jaz, 21**. **“We love to entertain, especially smoking and grilling,”** Graf shared.
Both remain active in philanthropy: Graf’s foundation supports traumatized children in Germany, while Agassi’s focuses on education reform, including a Las Vegas charter school.
Agassi hasn’t abandoned tennis entirely—he’ll captain the **Laver Cup’s Team World** this fall.
During their Breakers stay, the duo played an exhibition tennis match against **Andy Roddick** and **Kim Clijsters**, losing 10-7. **“I loved their pristine grass court,”** Graf said.
The weekend benefited **First Serve USA**, a youth empowerment charity.
