A luxury hotel owned by tennis legend Sir Andy Murray and his wife Kim has reported a significant loss for the latest financial year, although the figures show an improvement on previous years. According to *CityAM*, the Cromlix Hotel, located near Murray’s hometown of Dunblane in Scotland, posted a loss of **£369,045** for the year ending March 2024.
Despite the substantial loss, it marks an improvement from the previous year’s deficit of **£920k**. The five-star establishment last turned a profit in 2022, recording a gain of **£416k**. Murray purchased the 15-room estate in 2013 for nearly **£2 million**. Alongside Kim, he recently launched the hotel’s own brand of gin, crafted with ingredients sourced from the hotel grounds.
The couple collaborated with craft gin maker **Wildfire Gin** to produce **Cromlix Gin**, which includes raspberry leaf and milk thistle from the hotel garden and is made with water from a borehole on the property.
The hotel has hosted family milestones, including the wedding of Murray’s brother Jamie (a doubles Grand Slam champion) and his grandparents’ wedding anniversaries. Nestled within 34 acres of private grounds, the Cromlix Hotel features 10 bedrooms, five suites, a lodge, a chapel, tennis and pickleball courts, and a restaurant led by an award-winning chef. Room rates range from **£350 to £950 per night**.
Kim reflected on managing the hotel amid family life:
*“We’d finished having children and building our house, so it seemed the perfect time. Having little kids has been all-consuming. Renovating the hotel enabled me to come out of motherhood and create something different. I think of it as a family project—maybe in 15 years, the kids will be interested in it.”*
Murray, who retired after the 2024 Paris Olympics, may now devote more time to such ventures.
