Novak Djokovic showcased his resilience once again, overcoming a sudden health scare to defeat Alexandre Muller in their Wimbledon clash. Initially dominating the match, Djokovic won the first set with ease, losing just two points on his serve and pressuring Muller relentlessly. However, midway through the second set, he experienced severe stomach issues that left him drained for about 45 minutes.
Despite struggling, Djokovic refused to consider retiring. After receiving medical attention and taking what he called “doctor’s miracle pills,” he regained his energy. Muller managed to snatch the second set in a tense tiebreak after saving four set points, frustrating Djokovic further.
Yet, the 38-year-old champion returned stronger in the third set, breaking Muller’s serve with the help of a double fault and reasserting his dominance. Djokovic closed out the match comfortably, allowing Muller only two more games and maintaining his record of not facing a break point. He will now face Dan Evans in the next round, hoping his stomach issues remain behind him as he continues his quest for another Grand Slam title.
