Arsenal to Submit Formal £44m Proposal to Sign Key Target as Arteta Looks to Seal 7th Signing

Arsenal is set to make a formal offer of **£44m** to secure Atalanta forward **Ademola Lookman**, as Mikel Arteta aims to finalize his **seventh signing** of the summer transfer window.

#### **Lookman’s Career Journey**

The Nigerian international began his career at Charlton Athletic before moving to **Everton**, where he struggled for consistent playing time. Loan spells at **RB Leipzig**, **Fulham**, and **Leicester City** followed, but it was his permanent transfer to **Atalanta in 2022** that revitalized his career. Under manager **Gian Piero Gasperini**, Lookman has flourished, establishing himself as one of **Serie A’s top forwards**.

#### **Arsenal’s Interest**

According to reports from Italy (via *Football London*), Arsenal is preparing a **£44m bid** to bring Lookman to the Emirates. However, the player is reportedly **prioritizing a move to Inter Milan**, complicating Arsenal’s pursuit.

#### **Versatility and Competition**

Lookman’s ability to play as a **second striker, attacking midfielder, or left-winger** makes him an attractive target. Arsenal is also considering other wingers, including:

- **Anthony Gordon** (Newcastle United)

- **Rodrygo Goes** (Real Madrid)

- **Eberechi Eze** (Crystal Palace)

Manchester City is also interested in **Rodrygo**, while convincing Gordon to leave Newcastle would be difficult. **Eze remains a primary target**, with ongoing discussions between Arsenal and Crystal Palace.

#### **Arsenal’s Summer Spending**

The Gunners have already spent **£200m** on six new signings this summer as Arteta strengthens his squad for a **Premier League title challenge**.

#### **Key Challenges**

- Lookman’s preference for **Inter Milan** could force Arsenal to **sweeten their offer** or pivot to alternative targets.

- Competition from other clubs for top wingers adds complexity to negotiations.

Will Arsenal succeed in landing Lookman, or will they turn to **Eze or Rodrygo** instead? The next few weeks could be decisive.
